CARESS was registered as a Charitable Trust on August 18, 1998 at the office of the Sub Registrar of Kodambakam, Chennai, Tamilnadu, India. The registration number is no: 619 in book 4 volume 216. The Trust can carry out its activities all over India.

CARESS is registered as an educational and social body with the Ministry for Home Affairs under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 1976 since 26th August 2002.

Donations are eligible for Income Tax exemption under sec. 80G – DIT (E) by order No. 2(206) 98-99 dated 30-3-2004.
