Supporting women's Enterprise through providing credit.

In partnership with the FEMI foundation, we have set up a revolving fund of Rs 200,000 in 2003, to provide financial credit services to women entrepreneurs, so they can create jobs, build assets and improve their standard of living.

To avail these loans, women must be members of a self help group and be able to articulate a business plan that is endorsed by the group members.

These small loans have helped build women's self esteem. They now bring cash income into the family and can decide how it is to be spent. Loans have been given to set up, tailoring, vegetable and flower vending, purchasing milch cattle and goats. Loan periods extend from 10 months to 18 months as per the desire of the groups.

Most of the income made by these women goes to supporting their children's education and nutrition.

Repayment is ensured through the peer pressure exerted by the group members.
